Having known each other since their middle school years (circa '07/'08), where they first met at St. Augustine Church's Youth Group bungalow, Sharmane and Nico were simply always just friends; if not, acquaintances. If anything, Nico was closer to Sharmane's cousins! To be quite frank, Sharmane always thought of Nico as the joke-ster, a buddy, and not necessarily someone that was... "her type". Fast forward to their high school years, Sharmane and Nico kept in touch as they remained involved in youth group and shared mutual friends they got together with every so often. Then one day, the night of Sharmane's cousin Melanie's 18th Birthday, she saw Nico sitting alone, and asked if he wanted to casually hangout one day. "Hey, Nico! What's up dude? How you doin'? Yo, we should hangout one of these days man", Sharmane confidently said. Nico, eyes gleaming, happily agreed. Then they never hung out. Just kidding. They ended up watching a movie and grabbed lunch at BJ's Restaurant in Tanforan Mall one month later. Nico picked up Sharmane in his dad's white Mercedes telling her the radio was broken, since she realized there wasn't any music playing as she hopped in the car. Sharmane clicked one button and the radio came on. You could say he was a bit nervous. Sharmane and Nico spent the rest of that summer together. They did not know this then, but the rest of that summer together... meant for the rest of their lives together. Especially since Sharmane eventually asked Nico to be her boyfriend. He declined after the first two times. After the third, Sharmane let Nico formally ask her out (third times the SHARM, right?). The rest was history. And they lived happily ever after. The End. Just kidding. We're just getting started.
