How We Met

It all started with three little words..”Stage 5 Clinger”. Ha! Just kidding (not really). I was a server over at Mineshaft and a girlfriend and I decided to go have a drink on a Wednesday over at Bank Shot. Brandon happened to be sitting at the end of the bar with a couple of buddies enjoying a cold one after their softball game. With the bladder of a small child, of course had to head to the bathroom right away; as I was coming out of the bathroom I heard this obnoxious laugh (yes, you know what I am talking about) and had to approach him. We continued talking for the remainder of the night and exchanged phone numbers- the rest is history! That was the first day of what would be the rest of our lives.

The Proposal

We decided to jet off to Wisconsin Dells with the kids for Memorial Day weekend to get away from all of the Covid business 2020 had thrown at us. We had such a wonderful time, enjoying the laughs and good times with the kids, it was almost like the outside world didn’t exist, which is why this was such an important and special weekend that we will have forever engraved in our hearts. It was Sunday and we still had one more full day before heading back home on Monday- we had made plans to head down the strip for a bit, before coming back for lunch and the remainder of the day/night spent at the waterpark. Now that hindsight is 20/20, I realize that Brandon had been acting like a total weirdo. He seemed to be nervous that morning and it didn’t really phase me at the time. He insisted that we grab lunch downtown and we were headed out the door. Mind you, if anyone has ever experienced being around me when I’m hungry, I do apologize. We pull up to this restaurant (happened to be one of our first dates as a couple), right along the river where the Duck Boats tour around and I start to get super excited!! HE IS FEEDING ME....not exactly. He starts heading down towards the Riverwalk with the kids, while I’m too busy in the back telling him the door to the restaurant is RIGHT THERE. I, of course, continue mumbling and head down there by them. He starts telling the boys the story about how this was one of our first spots and grabs me, starts telling me how much he loves the boys and I and before I could even think or process what was happening, he got down on one knee and proposed. I was a hot mess, but the best part about this all, I couldn’t have dreamt up a better way of how this proposal transpired. Preston captured every moment perfectly and Easton grimaced with every kiss we took! One of the best days of ours lives.
