Lake Placid is known for its wide range of weather conditions. In September, the weather can range from highs of 65-70s during the day and lows in the 40s at night. Pack for all weather conditions. One thing Lake Placid promises is beautiful fall foliage in September.
All day-of events will take place at Smoke Signals. Our ceremony will take place lakeside, outside on the lawn. Cocktail hour will take place on the deck overlooking the lake, with the reception to follow upstairs in the Music Hall. Weather permitting, please plan to be outdoors for the ceremony and cocktail hour, followed by an indoor reception.
You will definitely need a car to get around. Public transportation is not readily available, and renting a car is necessary if flying in.
Up to you! Lake Placid has tons of options ranging from Airbnb’s to hotels. It is completely up to you where you’d like to stay. We will be staying on Main Street for the convenience of being close to our venue. We recommend staying somewhere close to Main Street that includes parking. Please note that parking on Main Street does become very limited on the weekends. Public Transportation (uber/lyft/taxi) are virtually non-existent here. If you plan to drink at our wedding, please plan to walk back to your accommodations or secure a designated driver in advance.
Because of the limited street parking on Main Street, we recommend staying somewhere close by that includes parking. The restaurant does not have a parking lot, so street parking is oftentimes necessary. There are several municipal lots along Main Street.
Semi-formal/cocktail attire. No need to overthink it!
The music will stop at 11pm. After party to follow for those still looking to enjoy their evening.
Of course. We wouldn’t do that to you.
We ask that all guests please refrain from taking out their phones during the ceremony. Don’t worry, we have a photographer.
Outside of our family, this will be a 21+ only event.
