Our Wedding Ceremony

August 08, 2021

With COVID-19 restrictions preventing Ting's family from traveling, we held a small wedding ceremony with our close friends and Graham's family in York, Maine overlooking the beach. The week leading up to our day to say "I do," the forecast predicted rain which caused concern. Fast forward to the morning of, we were blessed with a forecast of sunshine and clear skies. The intimacy of the small ceremony and the bright calmness of the Hartley Mason Reserve Park, created a magical moment - perfect for new beginnings and joining of families.

The Proposal

First Day of Spring turned Engagement Party!

An unassuming trip to Graham's family's house became the day Ting said "yes." Prior to this day, Graham spent the week coordinating with friends and family to have them be there for a post engagement celebration. He had his sister Audrey invite Graham and Ting to come up to New Hampshire from Boston, for a Spring kick off BBQ and bonfire. This raised no suspicion on Ting's part, and when the day came it felt like any other to her. We got the fire going, started playing music and the grill was fired up for lunch. Before we ate Graham started playing some of our favorite songs until Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love" began to play. Everything around us disappeared as Graham started singing along and took Ting's hand to dance with him (or attempt to dance). At the end of the song, Graham got down on one knee and holding back tears, asked Ting for her hand in marriage. She said yes of course, and soon after was further surprised to find herself surrounded by our greatest friends.

How We Met

Online Connections to Real Life Affections

We met online. Not expecting anything serious, but looking for friends and people to take us away from the stresses of our school and work lives. Turns out, we were more than that for each other. We felt an instant connection. Right off the bat, we felt like we could be ourselves around each other and not pretend to be anyone else. From the jokes and laughs we shared, to our love for dogs and adventure, we realized we had something special. After meeting for the first time, and several spontaneous trips later, Graham asked Ting to be his girlfriend.
