Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Victoria Bourgeois and Beau Bourgeois
Myrtle Beach offers SO MUCH to keep you busy, even in January! Typical weather this time of year is sunny, with daily highs in the 50's and 60s, and lows in the 40s. January is a very popular time of year for golf... and if you don't play golf, minigolf! If you are planning to do lots of activities, we recommend renting a car, as everything is spread out along the coastline.

Marsh Walk

4025 Hwy 17 Business, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576

The bride's personal favorite play to eat and play, just 5 minutes from her parents house. Located about 25 minutes south of the wedding location. Views of the marsh, nightly live music and friendly atmosphere with many cool bars and restaurants.

Brookgreen Gardens

1931 Brookgreen Garden Dr, Murrells Inlet, SC

Beautiful gardens with world-class sculptures, located about 30 minutes south of the wedding venue. Hosts one of the South's most popular holiday light festivals, Nights of a Thousand Candles. If you decide to do this the night before or after the wedding, make sure to get tickets early as this popular event is usually sold out!

Myrtle Beach Skywheel

1110 North Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

Located in Downtown Myrtle Beach, about 15 minutes south of our wedding, at the location of the old Myrtle Beach Pavilion. Fun Landshark bar and Skywheel make this an attraction for both young and old. Also nearby are the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade, a 1.2 mile walking path along the beach, as well as many other family friendly attractions like Ripley's Believe It or Not.

Ripley's Aquarium

1110 Celebrity Cir, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

Awesome family friendly aquarium at Broadway at the Beach, about 10 minutes south of wedding location. Tons to do outside the aquarium as well, including shopping for trinkets, dining (Margaritaville, Paula Deen's Kitchen, Yamato Hibachi Steakhouse and many more), and nightlife in Celebrity square.

Tanger Outlets

10835 Kings Road, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572
, (843) 449-0491

Great shopping, about 10 minutes north of wedding location! Stores like Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade and Lululemon.

Coastal Carolina University

100 Chanticleer Drive East, Conway, SC 29528
, (843) 347-3161

For our sports fanatics who may be dying to see the famed teal Chanticleer football field, CCU is about a 20 minute drive inland to Conway, South Carolina. Downtown Conway is just 10 minutes beyond CCU, and offers small town walkable charm (and will be decorated very adorably for the holidays!).

Doc Antle's Myrtle Beach Safari

4898 Hwy 17 S, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582
, 843-361-4552

As seen on Tiger King, this once in a lifetime experience comes highly rated (especially by many of the bride's friends!). Call ahead to book a package that includes simply hands on wildlife experience, versus a whole safari package.

Barefoot Landing

4898 Highway 17 South, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582
, (843) 272-8349

About 10 minutes north of wedding location, just beyond the Tanger outlets. Offers shopping and dining on the intracoastal waterway at many restaurants, including Lulu's, Greg Norman's Australian Grill, and Dick's Last Resort. Alligator Adventure, Alabama Theater and House of Blues are all located in this area as well. For our day drinkers, Duplin Winery recently built a new muscadine wine tasting location here, and for beer lovers Crooked Hammock Brewery is also in this area.

Beach Ball Classic

2101 North Oak Street, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

For our sports lovers- this is a 16 team National basketball tournament that takes place annually at Myrtle Beach Convention Center for the past 40 years. It is the Premier High School Holiday Tournament in the United States. Previous high school turned college turned pro starts include Kobe Bryant, Rasheed Wallace, Raymond Felton, and Vince Carter.
