By Summer Formal attire, we hope everyone will dress elegantly but comfortably for warm, outdoor weather. We envision guests dressed in lightweight, breathable fabrics and summer-appropriate colors. Men might opt for lighter-colored suits with linen or cotton shirts, and dress shoes. Ladies, we suggest that you consider wearing a maxi, tea-length, or midi dress in a summer-friendly fabric. Low heels or flats are HIGHLY recommended for your comfort and ease to navigate the ship gangway.
The ceremony will start promptly at 4:30PM. We recommend arriving between 4-4:15PM.
Our ceremony will be outside, and our reception will be indoor/outdoor with access to a tented deck. If weather isn't on our side, the ceremony will be moved to the reception space - guests will be notified ahead of time.
If your children are invited, they will be included with your group when you RSVP.
Our ceremony space has limited free parking in the lot in front of Maritime Gloucester and metered parking along Harbor Loop. Our reception space has a large parking lot directly next door, at 44 Commercial Street. Gloucester also has ample street parking and parking lots a short walk from the ceremony location. We do recommend using a taxi if possible.
There is NO Uber or Lyft in Gloucester! There are 2 taxi services in town that are very quick, reasonable, and reliable: Gloucester Taxi & Livery Service Inc. (978) 283-0099 or Fisherman’s Taxi (978) 283-1600. The Cape Ann Transport Authority also has a very reliable bus service - more information here: https://canntran.com/ The night of our wedding, we will have a 6-person shuttle available from 10:30PM-1:00AM to help people with rides home. He will be first come, first served, and will pick passengers up in front of the reception venue.
We know many of our guests will be traveling long distances, and hope you will be able to enjoy summer in New England as long as possible! Gloucester itself is a wonderful vacation spot, with plenty of beaches, restaurants, and the annual St. Peter's Fiesta kicking off the week after our wedding. Beau and I will be in town all week enjoying the festivities ourselves! If you are feeling adventurous, we recommend heading north to Coastal Maine or south to Cape Cod to see more of what New England has to offer.
