Coogans, a staple tavern for interns and young professionals in Boston's financial district, frames this love story. For those who are unfamiliar, Coogans is the only Boston bar to offer $1 drafts of Bud Light and is the place to go Thursday nights when you first graduate from the 209 basement at Tufts and begin a career in downtown Boston. Luckily for Brooke and Beau, years of lacrosse, soccer and band(!) relationships between Julie Hudecek, Brad Johnson and CJ Higgins ultimately led to their introduction that unforgettable night (with the exception of Brooke's name - a story for another time!). Conversation ranging all the way from backcountry skiing to computer science (what's sexier than that?) ensued and the rest is history!

July 21, 2018, a beautiful summer day in Shoreham NY at the Johnson home. After not eating breakfast and a few hours of tennis with Brooke, her brother Brad and her mom Deb, Beau was still not hungry for lunch. Suspicious, Brooke had never seen Beau refuse a bacon cheeseburger. Little did she know just how nervous Beau was... Shortly after lunch, Beau convinced Brooke to take a walk to her secluded community beach overlooking the Long Island Sound. Brooke, dressed and ready for a beach workout, had no idea that in his back pocket Beau was carrying a beautiful ring designed around a family heirloom dating back to 1912. Brooke's family, Julie and Joe Marcott and Beau's mom Heidi (who made a surprise trip that day) hid in the dunes and watched as Beau got down on one knee. Of course, she said yes!
