“Our New Chapter”

Over two years ago I met an incredible man as part of my widow support group who lived nearly 1.7K miles away. A widower who had lost the love of his life, just like I had lost mine, on the same 2020 year. Through heartache and grief, all we could talk about was Melissa and Ray, and how difficult life is without them. We were both in a dark space for many different reasons, but we were also very faithful that through prayer, we could heal. God did way more than I even imagined!! Our relationship is more than a love story, it’s a testimony of how God can turn your life completely around and even through deep sorrow, make you smile again. We never thought we could love again, specially because our hearts already have a name written in it. But God! Oh HE showed us how wrong we were. How no matter the pain, time zone, distance, circumstances, fear, and millions of excuses more, when our human eyes couldn’t see a way… HE made a way. HE answered our prayers by using love. By using the same shattered hearts with broken pieces, to heal together. Grieving isn’t an event, is a journey, so having met a man like Jose who decided to share the journey with me and keep talking about Melissa and Ray for the rest of our lives… that’s when you loose fear and let go of control. This love story is how I fell in love all over again with MY creator, the maker of my golden heart. Because this heart wasn’t meant to only belong to a man but to HIM first. I am honored to be chosen to share this story, and praise GOD loud and proud. I said “yes” (and so did my boys!), and can’t wait to say “I do” and have HIS blessing in our marriage. We can’t wait to celebrate with you this special day!
