We met in Destin, Florida just before starting our senior year at the University of Alabama—though neither of us knew it at the time. Sophia was out having drinks with her friends when Turner walked in and kissed one of the guys at the table on the forehead and proceed to join us at the table. We got to know each other over the weekend and it wasn’t until the tail end of the trip, Sophia finally agreed to go on a date. After some back-and-forth, we realized we were both headed back to Bama and picked a spot in T-Town to meet. The rest is history… Roll Tide!

We found ourselves back where it all began in Destin, Florida—only this time, staying together at the Estes Condo. We returned to Destin as often as we could; it always held a bit of magic for us, for many reasons, but most of all because it’s where our story started. On January 24th, it was foggy as ever. Turner was pacing around the condo claiming he had “a lot going on,” while Sophia reluctantly got ready for the night. She couldn’t understand turners sudden sense of nervousness and angst. They both got dressed and soon enough, it was time to head out. When we realized it was far earlier than necessary for a dinner just across the street, a detour led us down to the beach instead. Near the water, Turner got down on one knee and asked Sophia to make him the happiest man in the world by becoming his wife. True to form, her first response was a hesitant question “are you sure?” —followed by laughter, happy tears, and a very sure yes. We danced barefoot in the sand until it was finally time for dinner, still floating from the moment. We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone in May 2026.
