How We Met

Spring 2015

One random evening in the Spring of 2015, Megan found herself creating an online dating profile in hopes of one day meeting her future spouse. It was her friend Jess Zinskie, who decided it was time for her to start assisting in the process, with her husband Rich. After multiple swipes right and left, Jess came across the profile of a young gentleman with handsome, dark features and a soft smile. She proclaimed, "Megan! How about this guy? ... I mean he's into some weird music, so he clearly he must be your type." (For the record, Megan has better music taste than Steve. Glad that's settled.) It wasn't long after that Megan and Steve met up for their first date in Philly, which was filled with good food, drinks, arcade games (Megan won), and a bit of Arcade Fire and Lonely Island. From that point on, their lives were filled with bike rides along the Schuylkill River Trail, trips to new places, new friends, hikes in the rain, many, many, peanut butter containers, breweries, and the list goes on. Steve even taught Megan the ways of a cat are not all evil and perhaps have some merit (dogs are still better).

How We Got Engaged

December 8, 2017

It was snowing in New York, New York. Dean Martin was singing over the speakers in Bryant Park. Ice skaters were briskly gliding along a center rink just 75 feet from a tall and striking Christmas tree. Steve saw this as the perfect opportunity to propose to Megan. Steve took Megan's hand and lead her to the Christmas tree and asked a couple of young girls to take a picture of them. This was all very intriguing to Megan for the Steve she knew was not keen on asking strangers to take photos. Plus, unbeknownst to him, Megan had spotted what Steve thought was a smart hiding spot in his right pants pocket, a large square box just moments earlier. After just a few moments of "playing hard to get", Megan and Steve found themselves at the Christmas tree and Steve down on one knee popping the question. Megan said yes! The snow fell faster. Music played more loudly. Ice skaters lept into a quadruple lutz in synchrony. Christmas tree lights flickered and danced across the branches. It was official! Megan and Steve became engaged.
