The Proposal- July 2, 2022
Amy and Zac met working at Kohl's. Amy worked at Kohl's during her college days and Zac was working part time at Discount Tire during his college days. Zac wanted to have a summer job for extra money for "fun" so he got a job at Kohl's. Most of the girls working at Kohl's were swooned by Zac. However, it took Zac a little while to get Amy's attention. Zac would give motorcycle rides to some of the girls working at Kohl's. One day, he asked Amy if she wanted a ride on his motorcycle after work, but she declined. Zac was not happy with that answer and later came back and asked to do a coin flip. If it landed on the side he chose, then Amy would have to go on the motorcycle ride with him after work. The coin was flipped and it laded on the side that Amy chose. Zac was persistent and continued to ask Amy throughout the rest of the night until Amy finally said "FINE!". After working the closing shift, Amy went on the dang motorcycle ride with Zac. After that day, Zac and Amy began to talk more and plan more "hang outs" during the weekends and after closing shifts. They went on a really long evening hike one day in Estes park that lasted until midnight due to starting the hike at 5pm and getting lost at some point. Feelings began to develop during these hangouts and conversations and it led to the journey of a beautiful relationship and forever lasting love.
Zac and Amy went on a four day off-roading camping trip at Red Cone pass for fourth of July weekend with several friends. Zac decided he wanted to propose to Amy on this trip because it is near the place where he was raised and would go on off-roading trips with family and friends when he was younger. It is a very special place to him and felt this was the perfect place to pop the question. On the second day of the camping trip Zac and Amy along with friends had an all day journey to Red Cone peak which has a beautiful view. Zac and Amy were the first to get to the peak. Amy noticed that the rest of the group was traveling up to the peak very slowly, but didn't think much of it. While waiting for the rest of the group to come to the top, Amy pulled out her phone to take pictures of the beautiful view. She even teased Zac and said "wow! this would be a beautiful place for a proposal" Amy still was oblivious to what was about to take place in the next half hour or so. Once the rest of the group got to the top, they all hung out for a bit and chatted. It was getting cloudy and the rain was not too far. One of Zac and Amy's friends who brought his professional camera to take pictures (which is usual for off-roading trips and Amy still had no idea) mentioned he wanted to take a picture of all of the couples by the Red Cone peak sign before the rain came. He suggested for Zac and Amy to go first. Zac and Amy walked towards the Red Cone peak sign and took a few pictures and some silly one's too. Amy then thought they were done and started walking back. Zac called her back and said he wanted to do one more and told Amy to stand in front of him. As Amy stood in front of him Zac pulled out the ring and got down on one knee. Amy saw movement from the corner of her eye thinking he was doing a silly pose, but when she turned around, she found Zac on one knee, a ring in his hand, and with watery eyes asked her to marry him. She was in total shock and never thought this day would come after 8 long years. She of course said "Yes!" and got emotional as it was a very special moment for the both of them. A special thank you to our friends and family who made this special moment happen. To Brandon Chamberlin for the proposal photos and to our friend Chris Payne for the sweet drone footage. We have added some of our proposal pictures to the gallery tab for you to view. We are so excited to share this next chapter in our lives with all of our loved ones. See you in Loveland!
