When we met, it wasn't as a potential partner, it was as after-school playmates when we were 9 and 10. With moms who worked together at our elementary school, we would hang out with our siblings in different teachers' classrooms or the halls. As time went on and we remained family friends, I (Emily) felt the urge to pray for Zach not quite knowing why. I didn't realize at the time that the future husband and middle schooler I was praying for were one and the same. Around the start of high school, we began getting to know each other better, developing into a sweet friendship that would last for a year and a half. A friendship quickly became love. Over the past five years, we have grown in that love every day. We got engaged on April 7th, 2024, in the place where we shared our first kiss, reflecting on where God has brought us since.
