You can buy tickets to the actual rodeo to watch bull ridin' and mutton bustin'. After the rodeo competition, you can then enjoy a performance by the night's selected artist. Alternatively, you can just buy tickets to the carnival to ride semi-sketchy carnival rides and eat the fried version of every food imaginable or a turkey leg larger than your head. You can also visit the livestock show with your carnival ticket.
If the Rockets are in town, you can enjoy watching James Harden and Chris Paul dominate the court.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll through Hermann Park's running trails or reflection pool area. Don't forget to "stop and smell the flowers" at the park's McGovern Gardens.
James Turrell's Skyspace is a beautiful piece of art on Rice University's campus. Turrell's composition of light compliments the natural light present at twilight, and transforms the Skyspace into a locale for experiencing beauty and reflective interactions with the surrounding campus and the natural world. Sunset on March 2nd and 3rd is at 6:22pm, so arrive around 6:00 to ensure good seating.
