Flight
London has two major airports, but London Heathrow (Airport Code: LHR) has the most direct flights and easiest access to public transportation. There are direct flights from New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Baltimore and Chicago. For the cheapest flights, look at direct flights out of New York (Airport Code: EWR) or Chicago (Airport Code: ORD). I suggest using Hipmunk (https://www.hipmunk.com/) or Kayak (https://www.kayak.com/) to research fares!
Flight
Bristol Airport (Airport Code: BRS) is 39 miles (1 hour drive) from Clearwell Castle. This is the closest airport to the venue. It is unlikely that there will be direct flights from the USA to Bristol, but with a layover this can be a great option. I suggest using Hipmunk (https://www.hipmunk.com/) or Kayak (https://www.kayak.com/) to research fares!
Travel Note
The easiest way to get to Clearwell is to rent a car and drive from London. This will take you on a beautiful 2 hour drive through England and allow you to see rolling moors, fields, animals, and all the English countryside has to offer. Sarah did this drive this summer and found it very enjoyable, even driving on the "wrong" side of the road! Directions: https://goo.gl/maps/fAoN1GQKGn92
Travel Note
If driving on the other side of the road doesn't sound enjoyable to you, there is public transportation which will get you to Clearwell. You have two primary options here: Train and Bus: This will take about 4 hours and requires you to travel by train (Great Western Railway from Paddington to Gloucester) and a bus from Gloucester to Coleford. Once you arrive in Coleford, you can get a cab to Clearwell (about 1 mile). Directions: https://goo.gl/maps/73LuXiM4HXP2 Train and Cab: This will take you about 3 hours and requires you to take the same train as the option above (Great Western Railway from Paddington to Gloucester, 2 hours) and then take a cab from the railway station to Clearwell Castle (23 miles, 45 minutes). An Uber for this distance costs about $55. Directions: Train, https://goo.gl/maps/JV4Erxa6U8M2 Cab, https://goo.gl/maps/pdURXXdmpTF2
