We met at the beautiful, albeit seedy, local hangout of Bungalow's in Chantilly, VA in the "grey area" between Christmas and New Years. We hit it off, chatting and laughing all night before Brian made plans for us to go to a Caps game. With the "luck of the bender" and a Caps win, we later wandered through the lit-up streets of Old Town Alexandria. The next night, Brian invited Anna to a friend's New Years Eve party where we continued to get to know each other and basically ignored the rest of the party. The next morning, we delayed (and delayed) our departures from Northern Virginia to spend more time together - going to a movie, going ice skating, and just driving around. When it was finally time to go, we planned a weekend for Anna to visit Brian in Philadelphia... and the rest is history!
Brian proposed to Anna at the yearly, legendary weekend gathering of Hudgfest in front of friends and family on Nana's dock. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you, at the place where Brian sealed the deal!
We eloped on a rainy spring day on March 6th in Pisgah National Forest outside of Asheville, NC. Our original mountaintop location was a bit washed out with little coverage from the rain, so we opted for another option - a surreal walk in the woods to a waterfall carved into a cliffside. It ended up being the most magical, albeit a little damp, experience with our families. We got the dressed-up hike in the forest of our dreams and the rain couldn't damper our spirits. We read some personalized vows and performed a Celtic Knot ceremony before heading back to a beautiful personal chef-crafted dinner with our families.
