Question

Why is the wedding in Bacolod?

Answer

Bacolod City, aside from being dubbed as the "City of Smiles", is the ideal wedding destination for Bea and Kurt as it has the significance and deeper meaning for Kurt growing up in this humble city. This deep origin of going back to one's roots made perfect sense when Bea first visited the City of Smiles and embraced how sentimental it is for Kurt to celebrate his wedding day in the places that made him who he is now. Kurt started at an early age serving the Parish and Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus in Barangay Alijis as an Altar Server. He has lived his life of service in this parish community serving in different ministries, organizations, and helped build the Basic Ecclesial Communities. From then, he has served hundreds if not thousands of couples get married and exchanged their vows and "I do's". Kurt made a promise to himself that one day, he will offer himself and his significant other to the altar of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish and Shrine. True to his promise, Kurt brought Bea to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, sharing with her this cherished part of his life. In a moment of vulnerability, he asked her if the aisle was long enough—knowing Bea had always dreamed of a long walk to the altar. With a smile, she said yes—her very first yes to him, even before the proposal. Now, they look forward to walking that same aisle together, just like the many couples Kurt has seen before them. They will exchange their vows, say their I do’s, and seal their love, faith, and hope in the sacred bond of marriage. And of course, what’s a Bacolod celebration without its #NamitGid food?
