A Crazy Year

The pandemic, among many other things, has made 2020 a year that will be remembered. Many of those memories are not going to be easy ones, so we count ourselves immeasurably blessed that alongside all of these other things, 2020 is still also the year we fell in love. On top of that, we couldn't be more excited to start off 2021 with our wedding! While we are sad that we can't have everyone there in person on that day, we are excited to share the moment with you through Zoom. We know that we have all of your prayers, love, support, and wishes of grace and peace as we start our life together! With love, Ethan and Bailey

Why January 3rd?

January 3rd just happens to be both of our birthdays! Yes, we couldn't believe it either when we found that out. It sounded like a pretty fantastic day to get married!

How We Met

We found ourselves on the same dating app and matched with each other on December 14, 2019, right before I (Bailey) moved to Nashville. After texting back and forth for a couple weeks, we went on our first date the day after I moved into my new apartment. We went to Fido, one of our favorite coffee shops, talked for several hours, and to our surprise, felt more comfortable on that first date than we had ever felt with anyone else before. Nine months later, we got engaged!

The Proposal

Bailey lives conveniently close to a well-known place called Love Circle, where a small park exists up on a hill that overlooks the Hillsboro-West End area of Nashville, where you can see the skyline in the background. She had never been there before, its really close to Fido (our favorite coffee shop), and so I (Ethan) thought it would be the perfect place to ask her to marry me! As it turns out, there are only two golden hours during the day, and with the limited hours at Fido (a return there to our favorite first spot was of course going to happen), the best plan was to ask her at sunrise!! Our friends Jasmine and Stephens met me to setup a small spot there to propose and take pictures, and Bailey arrived just in time for the absolute perfect morning sunshine to light up the place. As you can see in our pictures, we had a pretty magical moment. We followed it up with a delicious breakfast at Fido, a walk around Opryland Hotel, a trip to Trader Joes (where we were gifted with a free bouquet of flowers), and a small party with our Nashville siblings. It was the best day! Oh, and she said yes!

For all the days along the way
