We met six years ago in Rockville Centre, NY. at a gathering. It was love at first sight for Tony, but not so much for me LOL. As I mingled with the crowd, Tony, watching me from afar, whispered to his friend Steve and declared, "I'm going to marry that girl." Luckily for Tony, our mutual friends kept us connected. Little did I know Tony was suited up and on the chase! Patiently, Tony worked on getting to know me. Because of his energy and kind spirit, I was quickly on board with our new friendship. Over the course of four years, Tony would greet me and ask for my ring size each time we ran into each other. Then on May 22, 2017, Tony officially asked me out on a date. However, my response wasn’t quite what he expected as I explained I had just committed myself to a six-month no dating challenge! Not to be put off, however, he then suggests we engage in a good old- fashioned courtship. Swoon! While this was an exciting time filled with fun and romantic dates, we eventually started having awkward goodbyes signaling an evolution of our friendship. Alas, where there should have been a kiss, the awkward “hug back pat” won out. We just weren’t there yet. Alas, anything worth having is worth waiting for. So over time we experienced new things together, learned about each other and ourselves on deeper levels, traveled and eventually made our relationship official. We had more in common with each other than anyone else we knew. He's from Long Beach, CA and I'm from Long Beach, NY. We both have zodiac and lion tatts. We are both ridiculous athletes, and we have great hearts. Goals and dreams blended and two best friends finally fell in love. On December 27th, on the coldest night of the year at Bryant Park, he asked "What are you doing the rest of your life AKA will you marry me?" in front of our closest friends and family. Everything we worked towards culminated into this one beautiful moment we will never forget. In the famous words we all know, GOT 'EM!
