We're getting married!

Madi and Casey first met in 2015 at the University of Central Missouri in their Calculus III class. Both studying Actuarial Science, their friendship was built on shared classes, cramming for exams, and late nights on Pine Street with friends. Over the next two years, their relationship was just like Casey’s time on the UCM baseball team – he was on the bench. Although plenty of good times and laughter were shared in college, they both went their separate ways upon graduation. Madi moved east to Pennsylvania and started a career in finance. In her free time, she enjoyed hiking the Alleghany mountains. Madi’s favorite hiking companion was her fearsome guard-corgi, Buster. Her compassion and love for animals brought another family member into her life after she rescued a frightened kitten, Pepé, during Hurricane Ida. When she isn’t taking care of her animals, Madi’s cookies and baking skills can give Martha Stewart a run for her money. In the evenings, she enjoys winding down to some ‘relaxing’ true crime – so much so that any creak or squeak during the night must be an intruder. Madi’s friends value her investigative skills, and if it wasn’t for her love for party-planning, then this whole wedding would probably be a bust if left to her fiancé. All the while, Casey dug his roots in Lenexa and started his actuarial career. He continued to find joy in baseball through a local league, met a few more lifelong friends, and tried his hand at arts and crafts. His painting skills are likened to the greats such as any-local-kindergartener and other works found in dumpsters. He even found a way to make motorcycles nerdy by his mere presence on his Yamaha sports bike. Casey’s parent’s, Don and Jana, much prefer his less risky activities like disk golf, nurturing his collection of houseplants, and billiards. Nearly a decade later, fate stepped back in. Casey and Madi reconnected when she moved back to Kansas City in December of 2023. It didn’t take long to realize this time felt different. Their friendship grew deeper and before they knew it, they were building a life together. From the first date at their favorite Thai restaurant, to the local pickleball courts, to meeting each other’s quirky families, exploring Japan together, and countless more adventures, their story is just beginning. And if they were able to survive the rail system of Japan, then the rest will be a breeze! Surrounded by beautiful autumn colors, Casey surprised Madi by proposing at their favorite park with Buster by her side and her best friend to capture the moment.
