Deakon and I met the summer of 2020. I was just sent home from college due to the mandated lockdown of COVID-19. We had matched on Tinder June seventh and met on June eighth. He came to my door and took me up to my favorite viewing site in Idaho Falls. He then took me to one of his softball games where his family and I watched him play. After the game he came back to my mom's house with me and my couple friends. We watched movies for hours. Deakon then drove back to Rexburg where he lived, to get up early to go to work the next day. Even through two years of long distance, different jobs, and schooling, we have been inseparable since.
It was my birthday and Deakon had woken me up to my favorite breakfast. He had told me to put on something nice and to be ready by the afternoon. He took me to get sandwiches and potato salad. He told me we were going to a surprise for lunch. When we arrived, I saw the most beautiful picnic set up I had ever seen. There was a table with blankets and linens. Red and pink heart were everywhere. There were rose petals on the path to the picnic. When I approached there was a sign that asked, "Will you marry me?" When I turned around, he grabbed my hands and told me how much he loved me. Then he got down on one knee and pulled out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. He asked me to marry him, I screamed yes and started jumping around. After the engagement we ate the sandwich's, painted, and enjoyed the scenery together. I can't believe I'm engaged! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! Thank you for participating and making it possible! See you soon!!
