As some of you may know, I am from Louisiana and Trevor is from southern California. So how did we cross paths? We credit this to Trevor's sister, my MOH, my best friend, Madalynne Fedoruk. Maddy and I met during my third year of medical school while we were both living in Maryland during clinical rotations. We quickly became inseparable. A few months later, she went home to California for the holidays and told Trevor "I found the perfect girl for you" - you know what they say about a sister's intuition. ;) Mind you, we are literally living across the country from each other!! When Maddy told me this after both of us returned to Maryland, I just had to laugh. I was flattered of course, but there was no way this was actually going to transpire into anything. But how cool would it be to have my best friend as my sister-in-law?! Well, one Instagram friend request later from Trevor - DMs turned into text messages, which turned into hour long FaceTimes which turned into talking almost all day every day. But, I kept thinking how was this going to work 3,000+ miles away much less even begin having never even met each other? A couple of months later, Trevor asked me to a Garth Brooks concert in San Diego, CA with his family. For those that know me, know that I am a little more on the reserved and predicable side. I would never fly across the country to meet someone I had only just began to know...BUT I DID! And it was the BEST. DECISION. EVER. A whirlwind of a weekend with Trevor sparked one of the most loving relationships I've ever known. I am thankful every day for taking that leap of faith to get on that plane and fly across the country. I am thankful for my med school journey to have led me to Maryland where I met Maddy. I am thankful that Maddy introduced me to my absolute soulmate. I cannot wait to be Baylee Fedoruk!
