As if written by Nicholas Sparks himself, fate would bring Baylee and Skyler together in an unorthodox fashion. The day was June 9th, 2011, the sun was setting, and the sky was clear at the Byron community pool. Jennah Rigdon and Skyler were frantically organizing a blind date for each other's best friends. "I hope she's as great as you make her out to be." Enter Baylee. They had known each other for a day, but it seemed more like a lifetime. They were coined a "wolfpack", ARH-WOOOO! Skyler's boat was small in stature, but big enough in spirit to pull a wakeboard on Lake Blackshear. That boat would serve her purpose as the catalyst for a relationship that would last forever. Two months later, Baylee and Skyler would be a couple.
It's April 16th, 2014. A ten minute drive down a country road in Statesboro seemed to last forever. Baylee and Skyler are anxious and excited. Doubts and visions running their course, building anticipation for what the future holds. Three years of dating and they were ready for the next step in their commitment. As they pull in to the abandoned gas-station, unsure of what to expect, joy filled the 1995 Honda Prelude. They picked up the 2-month old Zoe, Zoe upchucked all over Skyler, and their family grows by one. Piper and Olive would make a family of five down the road.
September 23, 2017. It's a beautiful day in Saint Petersburg, Florida, but Category 5 hurricanes Irma, Maria, and Jose linger off the coast. It has been the most active month of any hurricane season on record, but the sailboat had been booked for months. Impatient and eager, Skyler is confident and unusually at peace that the girl of his dreams will be committing to be his wife in a few hours. Baylee is looking forward to the "dolphin tour" that evening. We set sail, and the excitement of everyone (other than an unaware Baylee) match the turbulence of the seas. By the grace of God, the seas calm for a perfect sunset. Baylee looks down to Skyler on one knee, and fervently accepts his proposal to be his wife forever and always.
