If you ask Baylee: after living in Bellefontaine for two years, I grew frustrated at the poor dating scene so I swiped and swiped until I saw a goofy grin smiling back at me. I decided to send Malikye a message about dinosaurs and after a few months of texting, we decided to go on a date for real. I was cautiously optimistic because of my previous negative experiences on the app, but with Malikye it was like we had known each other for years. We talked and talked for what seemed like hours until it was time for me to leave. As we continued to get to know each other, the weeks turned into months and everything still was going great, so when both him and I needed a place to stay, it only made sense that I move Malikye over from Indiana. On Wednesday August 13th, Malikye asked me to marry him in the CVS parking lot because he couldn’t wait until I got home from work to ask the big question and the rest is history. If you ask Malikye: In indiana, the dating scene wasnt looking any better. Red flag after red flag, but, among the rubble I found gold. Polished and beautiful, shining back any light that touched its surface. That piece of gold was Baylee Larison. At first, I was scared to get attached. I felt I wasnt ready yet for another relationship. But, as I soon realized, my feelings were changing. I started noticing everything we had in common, how I could practically tell what she was going to say next. How every thing I liked, she liked. Anything I found abhorrent, she also found it that way. Despite growing up and living completely seperate lives, it felt like my other half was on the other side of a screen, just out of reach. I find it incredible how similar we are, despite our differences in life. I admire it. On a cold day in December the question was asked. The answer? A resounding YES. I made the best decision Ive ever made in that moment. Soon enough, life starting flying by. Days turned into weeks flashing by me, turning my world into one of hope and promise. Plans were made for me to come up to Ohio and I loved every minute! I just couldnt wait to leave the land of corn behind and put my new life on track. One with an amazing beautiful lovely person waiting for me on the other side :).
