While being laid off & covid mandates not allowing hair salons to be open. Dillon made his way into the Bridgeport Brookshires where I was checking groceries at the time. Buying pork chops & beer- I asked if there was anything else I could help him with. Dillon asked for my number & then texted me after he left to invite me over to eat the pork chops after work. Come to find out the apartment complex he lived in was also one of my friends from beauty school. That upcoming weekend I had already planned to go look at her apartment & possibly be roommates. Not knowing it was the same complex she lived in as the cute boy I had just met. Three short months later we up & moved to Pennsylvania together peak covid. After all a grocery clerk isn't something I was excited to pursue, it just happened to be "essential" enough at the time. As rocky & indifferent the beginning of our relationship was, the next few years didn't seem to veer too far from the same path. Together we experienced a fair share of loss, trauma, lots of fresh starts, sometimes just to get knocked on our butts again & again. But through it all we had love, & a strong bond that couldn't be broken. Even when we really tried to test each other, it inevitably just brought us closer to one another. The rest was history.
