If you choose to spend some extra time in Athens, we recommend visiting downtown Athens. The community has made a huge effort to grow the downtown area and highlight the small businesses that fill it.
There are so many new local restaurants that are great lunch options, such as The Southern Table, The Salty Cod, Li'l Mazzarra's, Ro's Grille, or Lucia's (our staple).
New hang out spots that are great for big groups are Irons & Ales and Old Black Bear Brewing.
