The restaurant at The Portofino Hotel! One of our favorite choice restaurants when family comes to visit! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Great food, drinks, marina views, and live music Friday and Saturday!
Redondo Beach
The beach Avery grew up going to as a kid! The hotels are about a 5 minute walk past the Redondo Pier to the beach. You can also rent a bike or book a kayak tour through the Portofino Hotel Dockside Adventure Center.
Riviera Village
A lovely square by Redondo Beach with cute boutiques and a variety of dining options including Yellow Vase (Baylee’s favorite spot for breakfast/lunch), Rockefeller, H.T. Grill, and The Rex Steakhouse.
Hermosa Beach Pier
A popular spot for those of you looking for local beachside bars and pizza! Paisanos Pizza is the pizza spot you want to check out, locally owned by one of Avery’s best friends. (Keep in mind that parking in Hermosa Beach can be challenging)
Manhattan Beach Pier
Manhattan Beach is the place to go for nice boutique shopping and some of our favorite restaurants for dinner. Our favorite restaurants in Manhattan Beach include The Strand House, Nando Trattoria, Nick’s Manhattan Beach, and Mangiamo Ristorante. (Keep in mind parking in Manhattan Beach can be challenging) I recommend parking in the parking garage where Nick’s Manhattan Beach is located.
Sea Level Restaurant and Lounge
The restaurant at The Shade Hotel in Redondo. Large seafood menu, great cocktails, marina views, and the best spicy tuna crispy rice!
Primo Italia
Avery and Baylee’s go-to date night dinner spot located in our former neighborhood. Amazing spot for great Italian food that never disappoints, and live piano music on Fridays.
Palsaik Korean BBQ
Avery and Baylee’s favorite casual dinner spot for Korean BBQ. Reservations not accepted, so arrive early and arrive hungry!
mar'sel
If you’re looking for the ultimate fine dining experience with a view… Mar’Sel at the Terranea Resort is what you’re looking for. Over the mountain side in Palos Verdes, this restaurant is a favorite of Avery and Baylee’s for special event celebrations like Birthday dinners and Valentine’s Day dinners.
South Coast Botanic Garden
In Rolling Hills, South Coast Botanic Gardens boasts a wide variety of local California plant life including floral displays and a huge collection of succulents and cactuses. During Baylee’s first visit to Los Angeles, South Coast Botanic Gardens is one of the first places Avery took Baylee to see.
Point Vicente Lighthouse
Palos Verdes boasts plenty of hiking spots and beautiful views.
Eat at Joe's
Local favorite breakfast spot for those who love big breakfast and great prices. This spot is very popular, and parking is limited. Get here early to secure a parking spot, and you may need to wait in line for a table. Reservations not accepted here.
Handel's Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt
The best ice cream in Los Angeles. This ice cream shop is very popular and the line can get long, but it moves quickly and the ice cream is worth waiting for.
Disneyland Park
The one that everyone is talking about! We recommend choosing park hopper tickets so that you can visit both Disneyland Park and California Adventure park. Avery and Baylee’s favorite rides are Radiator Springs Racers (California Adventure Park), Pirates of the Caribbean (Disneyland Park), Indiana Jones Adventure (Disneyland Park), and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (Disneyland Park). The drive to Disneyland from The Portofino Hotel is 40-50 minutes depending on traffic and the time of day.
Griffith Observatory
If you are going to visit the Hollywood area, we highly recommend going to see the Griffith Observatory. Keep in mind, during rush hours it can take up to 2 hours to drive back to Redondo Beach from Hollywood!!!
