In my free time, I like to read (I LOVE the Harry Potter series), cuddle animals, and drink good whiskey with my husband-to-be. I’m so grateful to be marrying such a great guy with my awesome friends & family by my side!

Shelby has been my best friend since day one! There have been endless laughs, cries, and wonderful times. We’ve been dreaming of love and weddings our whole lives and I am so excited that it’s all coming true! I first heard about Patrick over the phone while failing to change my own car oil here in Montana. I’ve adored hearing their wonderful tales ever since! Patrick is Shelby’s dream man and I’ve never had a doubt about it. I’m so glad that the brother-in-law I’ll be spending the rest of my Thanksgivings with is cool and not annoying, and more than that, I’m overjoyed for these two lovely people to share a lovely life!

Patrick and I met in high school forensics class, back when his hair was as wild and free as his spirit… After graduation, we spent many nights eating cheap bar food and debating some of life’s biggest questions, like “If you get out of the shower clean, how does the towel get dirty,” or “Is the ‘s’ or the ‘c’ silent in ‘scent?’” Years later, Patrick met Shelby and fell in LLOOVVEE. I was worried because Patrick is one of my best friends, so I had to make sure she was super cool and not mean. Patrick finally introduced us one day; Shelby made me food, it was lovely. I’m honored and very excited to help Patrick and Shelby celebrate their big day!

Shelby and I met forever ago. Literally, as far as I’m concerned. She was really bossy for a long time, but she’s cool. What am I supposed to say? She’s my sister. We have a complicated but ultimately very positive relationship. Patrick’s cool too. I like him. More importantly, Shelby likes him. Quite a lot. It’s really great. Patrick’s great. Shelby’s great. Love is great.

Shelby and I were in youth group together back in Florida! Patrick and I were in Seminary together back at McAfee in Atlanta! In 2004 our piano teacher told me that she thought Shelby had a crush on me! In 2014 I was pretty sure Patrick had a crush on me! When I heard that Shelby was moving to the ATL to go to seminary, my first thought was that I was going to get her to fall in love with my friend Patrick (I'm not kidding!). I went to tell Pat about her, but he wasn't interested because he had already met a girl that week on a dating app... a cute Presbyterian girl, from Florida, who was moving to Atlanta to go to seminary, whose name was Shelby.

Shelby and I met during our first year at Columbia Theological Seminary! Our friendship blossomed over the countless nights we shared sitting on my purple couch studying, eating dinner, talking about life and drinking way too many cups of hot tea. I say it all the time but I couldn’t do life without this woman! I will never forget the night of Shelby and Patrick’s first date, I anxiously waited to hear about every detail! I quickly knew that Shelby had met the man of her dreams! Patrick is such a thoughtful and compassionate man, I am so glad my best friend has found the love of her life!

I've known Patrick since the day he was born. Poor thing had no clue what he was getting in to. Constant torment, being forced into playing Barbies, and eventually wanting to dress up for my tea parties! (The fur stole looked great on him!) Only being 20 months older means we definitely had our moments of discord. I've slammed his fingers in doors and called him names, but he was always the cooler kid of the two of us. We now go to each other for advice and voluntarily hang out together. Patrick meeting Shelby has been the best. I've never seen him happier or more comfortable with someone. It helps that Shelby is better than any sister-in-law I could have ever dreamed. I'm so grateful to stand with and support my brother on their first day of the rest of their lives.

I grew up going to Montreat Conferences with shelby in high school but we really became friends when shelby joined first pres in Pensacola and we were both in the praise band together! Our friendship has continued and grown since then and I'm so grateful to have such an amazing friend in my life and I'm happy she has found such a great guy to share the rest of her life with.

I’m Jenny, and this is the second wedding I will ever be in. Granted, the last one was my brother’s, I was the flower girl, and I was nineteen years old at the time — so being a bridesmaid is a major step up in the world. I’ve known Shelby since summer 2016, when we sat next to each other at a summer intensive class at Columbia Theological Seminary and I instinctively knew how rad she was. Friends, she is even radder than that first meeting would suggest. I’m so beyond jazzed to be able to stand with Shelby and Patrick (who’s not too shabby a person either) on their big day!

I met Pat at KSU. We were both studying how to be deeply affected by our own imagination in the world of acting. I began rooming with him my junior year in what is formally known as the “Theatre house.” I think that is really where Pat and I became close friends. We spent so many nights attempting to understand the universe. I think some of the most interesting and important conversations I’ve ever had have been with Pat. Here is to a man that always listens first; a rational mind of understanding and a heart that beats for people. Thank you for the many many good times of watching football, singing Disney songs full blast (so our upstairs neighbors could hear our vibrato), car rendezvous’s in the snow, and for your respect for everyone around you. Eliza first met Shelby at Columbia Theological Seminary, where they enrolled immediately after college graduation alongside Jenny and Margo. Throughout the past two years, Shelby and Eliza have undergone 8 weeks of Greek school bonding and countless cups of queso together. Eliza and Patrick have also fostered a love for beer together. Eliza is humbled and honored to get to continue to celebrate the love and happiness of this pastoral power couple!

I met Patrick the thanksgiving after he was born. Fast forward a decade-ish and Patrick’s family moves back to Georgia where we spend our time playing Pokemon, little league baseball and pioneering the internet wilderness like Homestar Runner. I annoyed him by practicing wrestling moves on him and he annoyed me by reciting How The Grinch Stole Christmas WORD FOR WORD! Fast forward another decade-ish and Patrick introduces me to this woman obviously too good for him. Shelby introduced me to the wonderful experience that is A Game For Good Christians. She has an obvious advantage but is always a welcome addition to game night. Shelby has been a wonderful new friend and has proven herself as a very good and supportive person, and I can not stress enough how out of his league Shelby is.

Hailey Braden Lynch met Shelby when Shelby was just a sparkly-eyed high school student, and she immediately recognized her creativity and pluckiness as that of a future pastor. Shelby came alongside Hailey to help teach the children at First Presbyterian Church Pensacola about God’s love, and Hailey couldn’t be happier to be a part of this celebration of love between Shelby and Patrick.

Asher Lynch is the red-headed son of two pastors, born on Leap Day. He is also an amazing brother, a 1st grader, an expert angler, and possesses more knowledge about cetology and ichthyology than most people 70 times his age. Shelby once wrote a book entitled Asher and the Christmas Eel in which an eel spreads the news of Jesus’ birth for all human(and, implicit in the book, fish)kind.

Junia Lynch is the self-described best chef in her family. She is also the best dressed in both her kindergarten class and, even more so, her family. Junia can often be spotted running on her tip-toes, coloring while donning an assortment of tiaras, and exercising her uncanny executive leadership qualities. So, naturally, she and Shelby are bff.

Beata Frances Masselter is 7 years old. She enjoys Girl Scouts, arts and crafts and camping. She cannot believe that her parents did not allow her to be in their wedding in 2006, so she is thrilled and honored to be a part of this one.

Corinne is five years old. She loves to hang out with her family, especially her cousins. She enjoys camping and riding really fast in the boat! She loves finding painted rocks and going to Disney and meeting the characters. She also loves cheering on the UGA bulldogs! She also loves dressing up. Super heroes and princesses are her favorites!

Sylvie Nichols is 4 years old. She lives in Marietta, Georgia with her parents, her brother Malcolm, and her sister Decca. She loves knock knock jokes and playing with a toy cat named Whipped Cream.

Decca Nichols is 4 years old. Her favorite toy is a genie named Shimmer. Decca is in preschool where she enjoys story time and snacks. She loves chickens and once held a live one.

Malcolm Nichols is 7 years old. He enjoys LEGO and Minecraft and reading Calvin and Hobbes. In March he will be playing the role of a pirate in his school production of Peter Pan.
