The ceremony and reception will both be at the garden. The dinner area and porches are completely covered and guests will have access to the entire garden area. Note: the garden is open to the public until 5pm. 5 - Venue closes to the public, guests are welcome to meander 5:30 - Ceremony followed by cocktail hour 7 - Dinner 8 - Speeches followed by dancing! 11 - Garden closes Cocktail hour will have tray passed hors d'oeuvres and a cheese board. Dinner will be buffet style. Main courses will be chicken stuffed with roasted peppers, gouda, and spinach and cabernet braised short ribs. Sides include green salad, au gratin potatoes, marinated roasted vegetables, and bread. Dessert will be cupcakes: carrot, german chocolate, and chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. *Please let us know if you have any allergies or dietary preferences! Catering is provided by 39 West and dessert by Refectory Cafe.

"I fell in love with the Grateful Dead in law school" was the hook Courtney needed to swipe right. He seems smart AND cool, she thought. Later that week, they met up in downtown Raleigh for a beer at Foundation followed by tacos at Virgils. Baxter walked Courtney to her car and kissed her goodbye; they were eager to see each other again. They soon found out they were a good pair after watching the movie "Everything, everywhere all at once" and agreed it was delightfully sentimental and weird. It didn't take long for Baxter and Courtney to fall for each other; spending time together was fun and daily life felt natural. After moving in together, domestic and overseas trips, family gatherings, Brigadoon care-taking, and a couple of job changes, they knew they were already happily building a life together. On April 20th, 2024, in a park in DC, Baxter asked Courtney to marry him. She nodded and teared up, indicating "yes, definitely". Thankfully, Courtney's friend Liz filmed the proposal, doing an excellent job dodging joggers and dog walkers in the park. It was a beautiful, unforgettable moment. We can't wait to celebrate our wedding with you!
