I Do

We had been friends for approximately 10 years. Spoiler alert: I (Michaela) was starting to develop deeper feelings for him beyond mere friendship. In 2020, we both found ourselves back home and newly single as the Covid-19 lockdowns were implemented. I decided it was an opportune moment to express my feelings to Tom. What better time to take a risk than when you're confined at home, and contemplating your desires for the future? Finally, I opened up to Tom... and to my relief, he felt the same way! While starting both a new relationship and medical residency during a global pandemic wasn't an easy challenge, looking back, I wouldn't have changed a single thing. We connected. We grew. We learned. We laughed. We comforted. We celebrated. We loved. And now.... We Say I Do!
