I suppose this story starts with a girl named Amanda who had lost a bet with a friend. The terms: Amanda had to sign up for online dating and go on no less than 3 dates. She followed through and had been on 2 dates when she reached out to Mike, intrigued by their mutual love of snow. After a couple weeks of messages, Mike worked up the courage to ask Amanda to meet in person. It was 2020 and dating was not easy; they decided to meet at a park and picked Evansville as it was between their homes. Mike and Amanda knew then that their worlds would never be the same - it turns out this 3rd date was the charm. After a year and a half of hiking, camping, weekends at each other's houses, and even a dinner-and-a-movie date(finally;) Amanda and Mike moved in together this last Christmas. About a month later, while on a snowy walk at a local county park, Mike got down on one knee to pet Amanda’s dog Steve, but came up with a ring and a question. Amanda was just getting over a cold and would recount later “that’s how you know it’s love!” Discussing when to get married, they joked about when the wedding should be and Mike said " How about April 1st?" to which Amanda said, “Either we’re the fools or they are!” - turns out it was a great date - so they decided to be the "fools in love"....and the rest is history....
