Charlie and Julie both went to the same college, the University of Minnesota (go Gophers!). Charlie lived in a house with a few friends from Julie's high school and they knew 'of each other' from the mutual connections. It wasn't until the class (Financial Modeling with Mr. Nelson) in their senior year of college where they formally met and got to know each other. Charlie and Julie spent a few weeks of hanging out outside of class in the Spring of 2013, when one night (specifically at Blarney's Pub and Grill in Dinkytown) Charlie's friend asked if we were together. We both gave each other these looks to see who would answer first for what seemed like forever, when Charlie answered 'yes' and the rest is history.

Charlie proposed on our third annual trip up to Northern Minnesota to see the fall leaves in October 2016. Julie was on a trip for work a few weeks before, which allowed for the perfect time for Charlie to sneak over to Julie's parents house to ask her dad for his blessing (which Charlie said he was more nervous for than the actual proposal). Charlie proposed as they were hiking on the first day of their trip, to a state park (Jay Cooke) they had been to each annual trip, Julie doesn't remember a word he said, but remembers how she felt and the moment perfectly. They went to celebrate with a wonderful dinner at Bellisio's in Duluth, where Julie proceeded to call / text / snapchat a million pictures to her family and close friends.
