Connor and Meagan first crossed paths in 2020, when they were both in high school and working at Dick's Sporting Goods. At the time, Connor worked up front, helping customers check out and handle the store’s metrics, while Meagan was in the shoe department. Their first interaction was a bit rocky. Connor had wandered to the back to check out shoes for himself, but Meagan, still new to the job after only two weeks, quickly told him to leave—customers weren’t supposed to be in the back. The two argued back and forth until Meagan realized Connor actually worked there, just in a different department. Embarrassed, she brushed it off and went back to her work. A few months later, they had another run-in. Meagan was at the front of the store, eyeing a Gatorade, and Connor couldn’t resist teasing her. She had chosen a warm bottle from the front basket, not because she liked it that way, but because it was cheaper (by a whole .50 cents) and she preferred the lid. Connor joked relentlessly about her choice, but it was all in good fun. After that, though, they didn’t speak much. In the fall of 2021, Meagan went off to OSU, and Connor started his senior year at Bixby High School. But in November, they reconnected on social media. Connor messaged Meagan, asking if she’d be back at Dick’s during winter break. She replied that, yes, she’d be working over Thanksgiving and Christmas. That was the moment Connor knew it was time to ask her out. He shot his shot and asked if she’d join him for a date at a local golf course. Meagan, thrilled and flattered, happily agreed. The two spent their first date together at the golf course after working Black Friday shifts—Connor’s from 3 AM to noon, and Meagan’s from 6 AM to 3 PM. It wasn’t the most glamorous first date, but it was unforgettable. For Connor, it was especially memorable because, on that very course, he made his first-ever birdie. He couldn’t help but think that Meagan must be his good luck charm. From that moment on, the two were inseparable. As the months passed, their bond only grew stronger. Meagan made frequent trips back to Tulsa from Stillwater to watch Connor’s soccer games and support him through his senior year. When the fall of 2022 rolled around, Connor headed off to OU to start his freshman year, and Meagan made the bold decision to transfer from OSU to follow him (because, let’s be honest, following a boy to college is always a solid idea, right?). Then, on October 5th, 2024, Connor proposed to Meagan at the Philbrook Museum, in the gardens, where the couple shared a quiet moment surrounded by nature and butterflies (Meagan's favorite). Now, as they plan their wedding for April 2026, they’re more excited than ever to start the next chapter of their lives together.
