We met on Spring Break in Fort Lauderdale in 2018. Derek and his best friend Jordan came up to Tessa and Lisa at the hotel pool. He asked where we went to school and Tessa told him WVU. He then replied with “oh so you like bald guys? Jevon Carter?” We left spring break and continued talking every day.

December 8th, 2023 Derek was very persistent about putting up the Christmas Tree and all Tessa wanted to do was nap. We decorated the tree and after we finished Derek said he had one more ornament. He got a Christmas bulb that said will you marry me on it and got down on one knee.
