Where is the wedding ceremony?

The wedding ceremony will take place at St John Catholic Church. Address - 510 Jackson Avenue, Defiance, OH 43512

Where is the cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

The cocktail hour and reception is at Shady Brook Acres. Address - 15374 County Road T, Napoleon, OH 43545 There will be a gap of time in between the end of the ceremony and the start of the cocktail hour. Please plan accordingly.

Do I have a plus one or can I bring kids to the wedding?

Answer

As much as we love your families, please understand that our space is limited in how many people we can invite. We have tried to accommodate as best as possible. The people listed on the RSVP are the people invited to the wedding. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Will it be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, it will be an open bar. As a quick note, our venue does not allow shots of liquor by itself. Please drink responsibly as this venue is in a slightly remote location. Taxi service is listed in the transportation tab.

What hotel should I book?

Answer

We have a hotel wedding block at the Holiday Inn and Express in Defiance. To receive a discount, make sure to mention the Bauer/Kahle wedding when calling for a reservation. For more information, please visit the travel tab.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code will be cocktail. For the women, this means midi to long dresses. For the men, this means dress pants, jacket, and tie. Please no jeans, clothes with holes, or any type of casual wear. I’d also like to request the guests wear colors of the sunset. Oranges, reds, yellows, and everything in between those colors. We request that guests try to adhere as best as possible to the dress code. We want you guys to look and feel your best! FYI, please avoid creams, whites, beiges as this will be reserved for the bride. Thanks in advance!

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that guests try and arrive at least 15 - 30 minutes prior to the wedding ceremony starting. For those planning on attending only the reception, we ask they arrive during cocktail hour.

What if I don't RSVP in time?

Answer

Unfortunately, our vendors need an accurate head count. Therefore, we are unable to extend an invitation after the deadline. The deadline to RSVP is July 14, 2026 by midnight. Please make sure to rsvp so we can save you a seat!
