Hunter and I grew up in the same town of Zimmerman, MN. We've known of each other since 2009 due to having mutual friends, but never really acknowledged one another - maybe a hey or hi. Come summer of 2012 we had first hung out with some other friends around as well. This time, we actually acknowledged one another & stayed up chatting until 4am, but Hunter never made a move (even though he admitted years later that he really wanted to, but was too chicken..). After that night, I called my girlfriend Steph explaining to her how I thought he was cute & had a really good time with him, but left the conversation at that & thought nothing of it. 2-3 weeks later Hunter called me & we hung out again & again & again. Though, It never turned into anything serious. The summer ended & we gradually went our separate ways & went on with our lives. 6 months later Hunter reached out to me AGAIN & since that phone call our lives had begun together & here we are 8-9 years later getting MARRIED!
Hunter and I were on our first vacation together. We took a road trip down to Florida to see our friend Devin, who was living there at the time. One of the days we were in Florida we took a little drive to Jupiter Island/Jupiter Beach. We checked out the pier on the beach (where he was going to propose, but didn't because he said there was too many people around). We got back in the car & drove down the road a bit. Hunter pulled over & said, "Let's check out this side of the beach." My reaction was, "Why? It's the same beach & looks the same as it did back there." After a little bit of back & fourth, he finally got my stubborn self out of the car. As I was looking into the ocean (a little irritated that my feet were sandy again) I turned around & he was on one knee & 'popped' the question.. his exact words were "I'm not really sure how to do this, but will you marry me?" Very romantic & classy ;)
