Our story began in a way that felt truly meant to be — a thoughtful introduction from our mothers brought us together, the classic desi way. From the start, we could tell we were different in the best ways. Hussein was full of energy and passion, especially for fitness and squash, while Batul was cool, calm, and collected… with just the right touch of sass. Somehow, those differences fit perfectly. For our first date, we spent the day exploring New York City. We started with Japanese soufflé pancakes, then wandered through one of Batul’s favorite places, Gantry Plaza State Park, talking for hours while taking in the skyline. We ended the day at a Broadway show, and by the time the curtain closed, we both knew it had been, in every way, the perfect day. Over time, we realized that what made us different was exactly what we needed in each other. Through busy schedules and miles apart, we became long-distance warriors — spending countless hours on FaceTime, watching movies “together,” and planning our next dinner dates, trips, and matcha runs. Our love grew in the simple, everyday moments just as much as in the big adventures. Hussein proposed in our dream destination — Banff National Park — surrounded by breathtaking mountains and turquoise lakes. It was the most magical trip and a moment we will cherish forever. Now, as we begin this next chapter, we are so grateful for the journey that brought us here and for all the memories still waiting to be made. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by the people who mean the most to us.
