I first heard Fran’s name in the Fall of 2018. We had several mutual friends who were actively trying to set us up. In knowing us separately, our friends said that we seemed like we would get along (at least as friends) because of our mutual interests. I had never met Fran, but I (regrettably) didn’t pursue being set up on what would have been a blind date at the time. Several months later, on a Sunday morning in April of 2019, we were asked to stand up and “Say hello to someone we didn’t know” during our worship service (everyone’s favorite part). I realized I hadn’t met the cute brunette sitting in front of me. Our mutual friend Susanna introduced us, and I quickly realized Fran was who several friends were trying to set me up with earlier in the Fall. Later that same afternoon, Susanna gave me Fran’s number and basically said, “Here is her number; do what you want with it, but I really think you should take her on a date." I ended up messaging Fran that week, and we got coffee at the Red Bicycle on 51st in West Nashville for our first date. When I noticed her order was black coffee, I knew I had found a good one.
