Let's take things back to spring 2016. After attending "$5 Prom" (a dance requiring tacky dress) with the Virginia Tech campus ministry Cru, John -- clad entirely in animal-pattern duds, including boxer shorts with cartoon deer worn *over* the pants -- needed a ride to get food with friends. His new friend (and now groomsman) Misganaw introduced him to a girl in a bright pink, Laura Ingalls-style dress. This was Allie Dillon, and lucky for John, she was single. (But, more importantly at the moment, she had a car.) Fast forward a year and a half to October 2017. After many months of not-so-subtle flirtation, John finally got up the guts to ask Allie on a date outside his apartment. She ever so gently turned him down. Then, a few weeks later, John had to skip Allie's birthday dinner due to work ... and she realized just how much she wished he were there. By the following January, Allie decided to admit that she had developed feelings for John -- and he promptly turned *her* down! That rejection lasted less than 24 hours. After some serious thought, John met Allie at her apartment one last time, saying they should give it a shot. Three and a half years later, the Lord has blessed John and Allie with an ever-growing love for each other and for Him. By God's grace they've weathered many challenges together, including changes in job, location and timing, not to mention more than two years of a long-distance relationship. Now, they are blessed to be joined together as husband and wife and can't wait to see what adventures the Lord takes them on next!
