We met in June of 2020 at a mutual friend's party. Not even five minutes in, multiple people said "Sammie you are the female version of Jake" so I thought, "Damn, this Jake guy must be pretty cool then". Little did we know, we are very similar and clicked instantly. I found myself gravitating towards Jake the whole weekend, whether he knew it or not. Our first kiss was also this night while playing a drinking game, classic us. We exchanged snapchat names because Jake was too afraid to ask for my number, and we have talked every day since then (we do text now though). After this fun filled weekend, our friends planned a long weekend trip in CT and Jake and I were inseparable the whole weekend. We both could tell that we liked each other already and our like soon turned into love. I made Jake chase me for about 4 months, then he felt confident enough to ask if I would be his girlfriend. Of course, I said yes and boy am I happy I did.

Jake and I had a wedding on July 20 in Gloucester, MA. If you don't know, Gloucester is right next door to Rockport, MA, a gorgeous ocean town. Sunday after the wedding, we decided to walk in downtown Rockport to see the stunning ocean views along with strolling into some cute stores. Jake wanted to walk down a small side street that led right to the ocean where many sailboats and boat moorings were in sight. He asked if we could take a picture right on the edge of the wall where the ocean was at our next step. Jake got down on one knee and in great Sammie fashion, I did not notice and began to walk away from him. We moved about 20 feet and were about to take another picture when I heard Jake sniffle and he was pacing back and forth. Of course, I utter out "omg are you about to do what I think you are?" and he said "I am thinking about it". He then got on one knee and pulled out the most perfect ring, everything I dreamed of and so much more. I have no idea what he said after I saw the ring, but I know I said yes. Right behind me was the Motif #1 which is a very famous building on the water featured in many movies. This is also a place where my Poppa and Grammy used to bring us as kids so it was even more special to me to have them with us on the best day of our lives. Needless to say, it was our favorite day yet!
