Well, don't worry! We've prepared the shortest answers possible to your weirdest questions! So grab a cuppa of a strong Arabic coffee or a Guinness, and let's explore some of the pre-made, probably, true assumptions you have!
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

For the wedding: Guests wear formal attire to weddings in Jordan (suits, dresses or evening gowns). Although Jordan is a conservative country, people often wear modern formal party attire at weddings. Please feel free to wear what you prefer :) For going around in Jordan: Again, you can wear whatever you want in Amman. You'll find people dressed up with all types of clothes. However, outside Amman people dress up with more modest wear. Keep in mind the the sun is hot in Jordan, so light colors and long sleeves can help you dodge a sunburn! ☀️👗 For the beach: You can wear swimwear in beaches in Dead Sea and Aqaba, just as what you would wear in Ibiza. However, we recommend accessing those beaches through hotels/beach side resorts and not the public beaches.

Question

What about money?

Answer

You can use credit cards in 90% of places in Amman, almost all restaurants and Cafes. You will need cash however for the following: 1- Public taxis: However, we strongly recommend using Uber or Careem instead and pay through the app. 2- Downtown: If you're visiting downtown, many of the shops and bazars will require cash payments. 3- Outside Amman (if you went on tourism trips to other towns or bought souvenirs from small shops around. How to exchange money in Jordan? You can easily exchange euro/pounds/USD in Amman. We strongly recommend doing it from exchange shops in Amman and not the airport, as you will get better rates. Usually these shops have the rates visible on screen and you can get excellent rates from them with no exchange fees. Is Jordan expensive? Not at all! You'll find that food and transportation are quite budget-friendly here. Even when it comes to exploring the sights with tourism tours, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the affordability, especially if you book through local companies (stay tuned for details!). Now, when it comes to places like downtown bazaars and souvenir shops, as well as clothing stores, here's a pro tip: sharpen those negotiation skills! Haggling for better prices is all part of the fun in these spots!

Question

What to expect in the wedding?

Answer

The wedding is simply a big dance party! 5 hours of continuous dancing, interrupted by amazing middle eastern food! A mix of arabian, irish and international tunes and dance moves! PS: Get ready for an endless round of hand-shakes! As Jordan is a conservative country, hugs are not common there, but people love a hearty strong handshake! There's a pre-wedding event the day before as well! More details will be sent close to the date
