Though we went to high school together and graduated the same year, we didn't connect until 5 years later through our old friend AOL Instant Messenger. We kept in touch after graduation chatting every now and then, until one year free Clippers tickets came along. We had never hung out before that night yet it felt so comfortable - we knew we were on to something good. The rest is history!
From Robin... Anyone that knows me knows I LOVE Christmas, it's my favorite time of year! We had just moved into our new apartment in San Bruno and we were about to be gone for most of December for work trips and holiday visits. I wasn't going to do a tree. Josh had been wanting me to get a real tree for the last few years but I wasn't into it since we wouldn't be home much. This year he talked me into it, the plan was to go after I got home from work on Monday which happened to be our 11 year anniversary, but he had other plans... I walked through the door to find the perfect little tree, all lit up in our living room, with Christmas music playing in the background. My heart burst! There were three little bags under the tree that I thought were just decoration. He said it was time for me to open my presents. I refused! We had never really celebrated our anniversary before and I hadn't got him anything so I didn't want anything. He insisted. In his best game show voice he asked me which bag I wanted first, 1, 2 or 3. I opened the first bag and inside were Batman and Batgirl ornaments! His nickname is Batman so this made total sense, and we placed them on the tree. I chose the next bag and it was a giant Christmas Hershey Kiss! The last bag...it had a blue box in it. I opened it and inside was a RING POP! He's given me a ring pop once or twice before as a joke so I wasn't super surprised. I giggled and said oh haha, you're so funny. He asked me if I didn't like my gifts? I said of course I do, this was so thoughtful. I really didn't expect anything else that night. Then he said... Or would you rather have what is behind secret door number 4 and he got down on one knee and pulled out a smaller blue box that lit up with the most gorgeous ring inside and asked me to marry him! I was shocked! I jumped on him crying yes through my tears and said..."This was like my very own Hallmark Christmas movie moment!" Just perfect.
