Alyssa had gone out on a date with a man who shall remain unnamed. It was the evening before Thanksgiving 2021. Joseph was working a shift. It was very slow when Alyssa got there, she was the only customer in the bar. She could tell that Joseph was interested in what she was saying because he was bussing empty tables while she made small talk with his coworker, who Alyssa knew really well. Alyssa was discussing a string of bad first dates she had been on recently and that was why she was nervous, drinking at the bar before her date got there. She had even changed the location where she was meeting her date - nervous about going somewhere she had never been with someone she had only met in passing. Alyssa remembers thinking about Joseph: "Man, he's cute, I wish he was my date,". The date with the unnamed man went poorly. Alyssa left, Thanksgiving was had, and Alyssa returned to the bar the next possible day - Black Friday. She worked her magic and Joseph was spellbound. He asked for her phone number, she asked when he was going to take her out. They have been together ever since.

Alyssa's 25th Birthday: November 27, 2021, Joseph asked Alyssa if he could see her outside of the bar. Alyssa said yes. Alyssa likes to think of this as the best birthday present she could have asked for. Joseph's 31st Birthday: March 15, 2024, Joseph asked Alyssa if she would marry him. Alyssa said yes. Joseph agrees with the sentiment that Alyssa had three years ago - her "yes" was the best birthday present he could have asked for.

Alyssa and Joseph were less than a year out from the then-scheduled wedding date when they decided to elope! Joseph has been busy working full time and taking a heavy course load in order to pursue a career as a radiologic technologist. Alyssa is still working for a boutique law firm in Midtown and forever writing her novel. Between work, school, and the pets, the pair decided elopement would be so much easier!
