Travel & Lodging

We recommend booking accommodations as soon as practical due to as the fall is Western North Carolina's most beautiful yet busiest time of year.

Travel Note

Hurricane Helene Updates

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us regarding the impacts of Hurricane Helene. Thankfully, Sylva and Whittier were not impacted as greatly as Asheville. For those traveling from Knoxville or Nashville, we recommend taking Newfound Gap through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in lieu of I-40. For those traveling from Asheville, the roads are passable and in good condition.

Nearest Airport: AVL

Travel Note

AirBnB or VRBO

We believe the best way to experience Western North Carolina is by staying near its natural beauty. We recommend that you check out AirBnBs and VRBOs in the towns of Bryson City, Cherokee, Sylva, Dillsboro, and Whittier for a great cabin rental.
