Ryan and I met the modern way, on Hinge. Ryan asked me on a face time date on January 8th 2021. We had our official first date on January 24th 2021. We walked down the beach and had coffee at Southern Grounds in Neptune Beach. From that date on we have spent most days he was home from work together.

In October 2022, Ryan mentioned wanting to do a mountain weekend with all of our closest friends. He wanted to plan it sometime in the spring of 2023. I thought it was a little strange because as many know Ryan is not much of a planner but he did a really good job of making me believe it was just going to be a relaxing weekend for all our friends. We picked Cinco De Mayo because who doesn't love tacos and margaritas! We found a beautiful house with an amazing view in Tennessee. Once we arrived, Ryan wanted to get to the house early so we could get everything unpacked and the food started before anyone else arrived. Unfortunately, the rental company would not let us in and Ryan seemed a little more upset about it than he really should have been. Little did I know Ryan was trying to get me out on the patio so we "could see the view" before anyone else arrived. I should have known something was up when he asked me three times if I was going to get ready for the day. Being a rule follower and not wanting the company to kick us out before even getting in we waited about two hours. We finally got into the house and by this time Brett, Jessica, and their daughter had arrived. We got the cars unloaded and the food prepped, finally after Ryan asked for the third time I got ready for the day! We went up to the top floor of the house and Ryan asked me to take a picture. This should have been my final clue of what was about to happen. After the picture I started walking back inside when he grabbed my arm said how much he loved me and got down on one knee. I didn't even give him the chance to ask me the full questions before I tackled him with a hug. He told me to stand back up and asked me to marry him. My answer was "YES, OF COURSE"
