The Beginning

02.06.2017/ The Universe Knew What It Was Doing

Our love story began on February 6th 2017, under a waxing gibbous moon. This is the phase of the moon cycle that immediately precedes the full moon. To keep it short, the meaning of this moon is considered the run-up to everything one would hope to achieve or accomplish in this life and signifies abundance, gaining & attaining anything you could hope for. In a lot of ways, that's how we feel about meeting each other. We met at a cozy little college bar while we were both attending University on that fateful night in February. At the time, everything about our meeting seemed completely random, unexpected & coincidental but the Universe always knows what it is doing. We played darts (John was anything but a sore loser lol). We realized that we had the exact same taste in music (Very Important!). And we ended that night with the plan to see each other again not realizing at the time that we had just lucked into the once in a lifetime experience of meeting our soulmate. The rest was written in the stars.

Our Engagement

5.22.2021 / A lonnnnnng time coming

We're both people that have always been drawn to the mountains, nature and open air. We've been on countless mountain dates throughout our 4 going on 5 years together. John told me that he wanted to take a day trip up to mountains to hike, see a waterfall and then venture into Boone for the rest of the day. Nothing about that was out of the ordinary to me and I was excited to be one with the earth again. Early that morning, John was acting a little nervous but I didn't read too much into it. John had researched a beautiful waterfall for us to hike to but he didn't look into how treacherous the hike would be. After about 40 minutes of hiking up rocky terrain, stairs and slippery rocks, I saw the most beautiful waterfall I had ever seen. John took that moment to ask me to marry him and I said yes. We spent the rest of the day in Boone where we ate at our favorite sandwich spot 'Our Daily Bread', went shopping on King Street and spent the day in engagement bliss keeping the news to ourselves until going back to my parents house that night to pick up our pups. It was truly a lonnnnnnnng time coming but also magical in the sense that he was able to surprise me in one of my favorite places.
