How to Get to Paros

There are 2 options we recommend for getting to Paros from the US 1) Fly into Athens, then take a short flight or ferry to Paros or a nearby Cycladic Island. 2) Fly into a major European city that offers direct flights to Santorini or Mykonos (London, Paris, Italian Cities, Spanish cities), then take a ferry from Santorini or Mykonos to Paros Andrew & Bella are flying to LHR (London), staying near the airport for 1 night, then flying the next morning from London to Mykonos. We will arrive in Paros on Sunday, Aug 31! ✈️ Reaching Paros By Flight One way to reach Paros is by flying into Athens International Airport (ATH) and then taking a short domestic flight to Paros (PAS). Flight time from Athens to Paros: approximately 30 minutes Several daily flights are available via Sky Express and Olympic/Aegean Air. We recommend booking these early, as they can fill up during summer months. ⛴ Reaching Paros By Boat Ferries are a scenic and popular way to get to Paros, especially if you plan to explore more of the Cyclades. You can reach Paros by Ferry from Athens (3-4.5 hours), Mykonos (45min), Santorini (2-4hrs), Naxos (30min), Milos (2-2.5hrs) and other Cycladic Islands. Santorini & Mykonos have international airports, so one popular route is to fly to one of those islands then ferry over to Paros from there. Ferry schedules can vary by season, so we recommend checking https://www.ferryhopper.com to book tickets and see the latest routes and times. There are 2 types of ferries you can take: high speed ferries or traditional ferries. The high speed ferries will get you to your destination faster, but they often are a bit less comfortable. The traditional ferries are better if you get sea sick or are travelling with children-- they are like mini cruise ships where you can walk around, go outside, etc. Let us know if you have any questions—we’re happy to help you plan the easiest route!

Where to Stay in Paros

We recommend guests stay near the village of Naoussa. We will provide transportation from a central point in Naoussa to the wedding venue on the day of the ceremony, and the welcome party will be hosted in Naoussa. Another option is to stay in Parikia, which is closer to the wedding venue itself but not as beautiful/ picturesque as Naoussa.

Hotel Recommendations

We created a list on google maps with hotels we recommend. Unfortunately wedding blocks are not common in Greece, so we don’t have a specific hotel with booked out rooms for our guests to stay.

Villas or Airbnbs

Villas/ Airbnbs are also an option for large groups. To search for the perfect villa for your group, use https://www.bookingparos.com/ or airbnb. Let us know if you need help finding a villa or if you want recommendations on locations once you find a good fit!

Getting Around Paros

On the day of the wedding, we will provide transportation to/ from some central locations in Naoussa via shuttles. Outside of the wedding day, the best way to experience the island is by car or ATV! If you are comfortable and able, we think ATVs are the most fun way to explore the island. Uber is not available and taxis generally need to be pre-booked. Vehicles can be picked up at the airport, port, in town, or even at your hotel. Below are the few international and local options. If you’re not comfortable with manual transmission make sure you request an automatic! Budget Avis Hertz Sixt Lukis Rentals ML https://www.motorland.gr/ Spyrou http://www.paros-spirou.com/

Travel Note

Surrounding Islands to Visit

While you are in Greece we definitely recommend extending your trip and visiting some nearby greek Islands! Below are some of our favorites: Milos (45 min ferry from Paros): A smaller island known for its beautiful beaches and quaint fishing villages. Perfect island to rent an ATV and explore the beaches over a couple of days. Stay for 2-3 nights. Santorini (2-4hr ferry from Paros): Santorini is such a popular island for good reason-- its stunning cliffside views make it worth a visit. You can stay either in Oia or Fira, both are beautiful options with a ton to do. I’d recommend 2 nights in Santorini. Naxos (30 min ferry from Paros): Naxos is the largest island in the Cyclades and promises something for everyone. From long, shallow beaches perfect for families with small children to steep hills featuring quaint mountain villages with local distilleries, the island mixes tourism with an authentic Greek experience. We haven’t been to Naxos but have heard great things! Most people spend 3-4 nights here. Mykonos (45 min ferry from Paros): Mykonos is regarded as the glamorous party island of the Cyclades-- known for its vibrant clubs and upscale shops and restaurants. If you have a large group of young people it could be worth checking out for a fun party vibe! Crete (3.5-4hr ferry from Paros or fly to Mykonos or Santorini from Crete and ferry to Paros): Crete is an incredible island that gives a totally different vibe than the cyclades. It is known for its ancient history, stunning natural beauty (the best beaches I’ve been to are on Crete), and its amazing food and wine. Crete is a huge island with a ton to explore, so you’d want to stay at least 4-5 nights, but even longer would be ideal. There are a ton more islands around that all seem incredible, so don’t limit yourself to just the ones listed above! If you’d like help creating the perfect itinerary we are happy to connect you with a travel planner.
