It all started in a sixth-grade classroom with a student named Brycen—who just so happens to be Lukas’s nephew. Brycen loved country music, and one day, I asked him how he got into it. He told me his uncle was the one who got him into it. Curious, I asked how old his uncle was, and when he said he was around my age, I jokingly asked, “Is your uncle single?” A couple of days later, Brycen came to school with a business card in hand—Lukas’s business card. With a grin, he handed it to me and said, “My uncle thinks you’re really pretty and wants to take you out sometime.” What Brycen didn’t know was that I had already noticed Lukas, too. Before our classroom conversation, we had an awards ceremony at school, and Lukas happened to be there. He saw me and was interested, but didn't act on anything. Then, not long after, we went on a field trip where Lukas picked Brycen up. I saw him that day and thought he was really handsome—but of course, I kept that to myself. As much as I was intrigued, I knew I couldn’t date a student’s uncle while Brycen was still in my class. So, I let time pass. After the school year ended, I eventually found Lukas on Instagram and followed him. Life moved on, and we both ended up dating other people for a while. But nearly two years later, Lukas sent me a message asking if he could take me out, and I said yes. Our first date was PERFECT. The kind of first date you dream about.
