Old Sacramento

Old Sacramento is the riverfront historic district, with Gold Rush-era buildings, cobblestone streets, and horse-drawn carriages. It’s home to numerous museums, including the Sacramento History Museum and the state Railroad Museum. Approximately 30 miles from Newcastle.

DOCO - Downtown Commons

Downtown Commons (DOCO) is an outdoor mixed-use entertainment, dining, and retail complex. It includes Punch Bowl Social which combines craft cocktails and cuisine with nostalgic pastimes such as bowling, darts and shuffleboard

Placer County Wine Trail

(Located in the cities of Auburn, Lincoln, Newcastle, Loomis & Granite Bay) The 20 or so wineries that make up the Placer County Wine Trail take advantage of the region’s typically warm and dry summers to produce a wide array of wines. These winemakers tend to be an adventurous lot, and their wineries are typically family-run operations. If you are traveling with beer lovers, there’s also a map for the Placer Wine & Ale Trail, which includes not-to-be-missed craft breweries and taprooms.
