Question

Transportation to the Wedding

Answer

We will be providing transportation to and from the wedding, especially since we chose a location that does not have any ubers or taxis. We will be arranging carpools for everyone to be brought to the June Mountain parking lot, courtesy of a few of our family members. These will be arranged beforehand so you will know who is picking you up and when to meet them. After the reception and the chairlift back to the parking lot, we have arranged for a shuttle service to drop everyone off between 10 and 11. Please note, if you wish to leave before 9:30 you will need to drive yourself (soberly).

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

Yes, there will be an open bar at the wedding! It will last for four hours (until approximately 9) and then it will turn into a cash bar.

Question

Can I take my own photos during your ceremony?

Answer

Please please do NOT take your own photos during the ceremony. At the reception knock yourself out, but during the ceremony please be present with us during a momentous moment in our lives and leave the professionals to take the photos/video. We have hired a very nice and talented photographer who has ensured us he will remind guests to put their phones away during the ceremony if he sees any. Thank you for your understanding!

Question

Attire

Answer

We ask everyone wears semiformal. This means guys please wear a button up, tie, and no jeans. Ladies, I think you know what to do but please keep in mind the weather. Everyone needs to bring a jacket, it will be cold on the ride down the chairlift and may be windy during the ceremony/cocktail. Also be mindful of your foot wear and what would be appropriate on the chairlift. Bring a change of shoes if you prefer. Most importantly, as we are trying to plan as sustainable of a wedding as possible, we strongly encourage everyone not to buy new clothes for the event. The apparel industry accounts for 10% of global carbon emissions. With this in mind, re-wear your favorite wedding outfit, borrow from a friend, or hit up your local thrift store! Thank you in advance for helping us with this!

Question

Will I really need a jacket at the wedding?

Answer

YEP. June Lake has an average low of 35° in the month of June and the reception is at a 1,000 foot higher elevation. It's going to be a chilly chairlift down at the end of the night!

Question

Will the altitude affect me?

Answer

YES. Especially all of our sea-level living friends. June Lake is at 7,654' and the wedding venue is at 8,695'. We want everyone to have a great time but remember to take care of yourself too. Beware of the following symptoms of acute altitude sickness: headache, nausea, lethargy, dizziness, and disturbed sleep. You are more prone to dehydration and alcohol is more likely to have a stronger effect. Just pace yourself, listen to your body, and take it easy if you need to. Most of your condos/motels will supply humidifiers and they will be your best friend. Use them, especially at night if you don't want to wake up with a dry nose, throat, and mouth. It makes wearing lipstick a lot harder. Also, HAFE is very real so give it a google, be prepared, and maybe carefully consider who your roommate will be.

Question

Can I go fishing?

Answer

There are a lot of places to go fishing and many people are planning on going. If you are interested at all there will be people to go with and gear to borrow. All you will need is a fishing license which you can purchase for a one or two days here: https://wildlife.ca.gov/Licensing/Fishing (Marina works for CDFW so don't let her catch you fishing without one.)

For all the days along the way
