Back in 2011, we both lived in the same town of Towson, went to the same college, and were friends with all the same people, but somehow we rarely crossed paths. We never made our own connection in our college days, except for that one time Matty handed Jordan a beer at a pregame and she ignored his existence, but we won’t go there. Anyway, we always knew of each other but stuck in our own bubbles of friends for our undergraduate years. Fast forward 8-9 years later, we both were at the same Irish pub in Hoboken NJ, McSwiggan’s, still surrounded by all the same people we knew way back then. This exchange was different though, this time “all the same people” were together in one place exchanging hellos, hugs and Jameson shots. This time was different too, instead of Jordan ignoring Matty trying to hand her a beer, she was trying to hold his coat for him. Here was Jordan, this legendary girl from Matty’s college days that he never thought he would be able to talk to let alone get attention from. We were enamored from the start. We kept in touch, Matty in Baltimore and Jordan in Hoboken. Keeping in touch turned into visiting each other every weekend all in the middle of this once in a lifetime global pandemic. The two of us being the romantics we are, just kept on believing. We visited back and forth as often as possible while Matty finished his Masters. Then in 2021, our romantic belief in each other, and possibly fate from the universe, landed Matty a job at a hospital 1 block away from where Jordan taught Kindergarten. It was meant to be, as if the universe was aligning the stars all those years of putting us into the same town, surrounding us with all the same friends, choosing career paths with similar passions & within proximity of each other, fate decided and rewarded us with each other. We look forward to having “all of our people” and family in one place again on May the 4th of 2024 to celebrate our love. -Written by Matty
